Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is a Brit-American sitarist as well as a music producer. She was also the youngest and first woman to win an award from the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Shakar, who is just a rising superstar on the Indian Sitar, is Anoushka. She is a scholar and granddaughter of legendary Ravi Shankar. She was born 1982 in London. Her childhood years were spent between London and New Delhi. Her debut concert was on stage in New Delhi at the tender 13 years old. Later she moved in Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha was only 17 years old, has had an extremely successful recording and performing career. She has been performing with her father in the stage for a long time. In 1998 she released her first solo album Anourag. In 2002, she released her Grammy Nominated Live at Carnegie Hall. As she's appeared on all the major stages in all over the globe, her stage career is extensive. Her career extends beyond the realm of music. Bapi the love of My Live, a biography of a picture that was written in tribute to her father Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. In addition, she has appeared in films in 2003 she acted in the film Dance Like a Man where she plays a young Bharat Natyam dancer. It included performances at Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD concerts in addition to performing alongside George Harrison.
